The Friends of the Dillsburg Area Public Library are pleased to announce the dates for the upcoming Fall 2024 Book Sale. The book sale, which will take place at the library, runs from September 21st through September 28th. The sale will commence at 9:00am on September 21st and follow regular library hours for the remainder of the sale. Thousands of books for all ages will be available. Additionally, DVDs and puzzles will also be for sale. The final day of the sale is the popular “fill-a-bag” day.
The Friends will be accepting donations of gently-used books, DVD, and puzzles through September 14th. Books that are in unsalable condition, textbooks, encyclopedia, Readers Digest Condensed Books, VHS and audiocassette tapes, and music CDs will not be accepted.
The Friends of the Dillsburg Area Public Library conduct two annual sales to raise needed funds for library operations. The Spring 2024 sale netted a profit of $4,000, and hopes are high to exceed that figure with this sale. “As costs rise and state and municipal contributions continue to remain flat, fundraisers like the Friends sales are becoming extraordinarily important in allowing the library to continue to offer a wide array for programs and services,” says Library Director Keith Greenawalt.
