York Revolution’s DownTown to Visit Libraries this Summer
YORK, PA – Area youth participating in York County Libraries (YCL) SummerQuest program will have an opportunity to see York Revolution’s DownTown both on and off the baseball field this summer. The mascot will be visiting seven YCL locations for story time. Anyone wanting photos with DownTown is encouraged to bring a camera along to the free events.
“Everyone knows that DownTown can’t talk, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love helping people enjoy reading and discovering their local library,” says York Revolution President Eric Menzer. “Fortunately, we’ll be sending people along with him to help out with the talking part, so on behalf of DownTown, I can say that he’s looking forward to seeing everyone this summer to enjoy story time with the Revs!”

“In addition to meeting DownTown at YCL locations, local youth have a chance to see a Revs game and DownTown at his favorite place, the ballpark,” says York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert. “Each summer, the York Revolution generously provides game tickets to encourage children to read, learn, and stay active during summer vacation.”
This year, while ticket supplies last, 500 children who reach the 800-minute reading and activity goal will be able to attend the game on Sunday, August 18, at WellSpan Park. The 800-minute achievers are invited to participate in a pregame parade around the field, and one lucky participant will be able to throw out the game’s first pitch. Parents should visit their local library for details.

York County Libraries SummerQuest is an annual program that provides hundreds of opportunities for youth to stay active and learn during summer vacation. This year’s “Adventure Begins at Your Library “SummerQuest encourages participants to read, learn, have fun at library events, and explore area parks. It is free to join.
