Guthrie Memorial Library

Hanover’s Public Library Since 1911

The Pennsylvania Room collection has been transferred to the Hanover Area Historical Society’s Yelland Research Library, which is now located in the Guthrie Memorial Library building. Please stay tuned for more information regarding the operating hours of the Yelland Library or contact the Hanover Area Historical Society directly.

Welcome! Guthrie Memorial Library - Hanover's Public Library is a welcoming environment representing education, recreation, and progress, forming a cultural connection that joins people through text, technology, and meeting spaces.

Our vision: To give Hanover area residents access to the information they need in order to live their best lives.

Enjoy three levels of community spaces, technology, and a friendly staff in your community library. Located just three blocks from the center of town on Route 94, we have been welcoming Hanover area families since 1911. We are known for our fun and educational activities for everyone in the family, and our early childhood programs are designed to meet state educational standards. Author visits, a teen library, a special space for kids, and high-speed Internet access can all be yours when you visit Guthrie Memorial Library!

In addition, we offer on-site access to Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org on all of the computers in our adult computer lab. Ancestry.com access is provided through a generous donation from Monna Hormel.
