Glatfelter Memorial Library Honors Sarah Barnhart
The Glatfelter Memorial Library Honors Committee selected Sarah Barnhart as its 2023 Honoree. Sarah will be recognized in an honors ceremony and special reception at Glatfelter Memorial Library on Sunday, November 12 at 2:00 PM. Our newly established Honors Event recognizes leaders who have made our community a better place to live and learn.
About Sarah
Sarah’s love for books began before she could even read; she has been an avid book lover for her entire life. As a young girl, she regularly visited her local library and read anything she could get her hands on, including textbooks. Her passion for handmade soap and bath products began in eighth grade when she discovered a book on soap making at the Glatfelter Memorial Library in Spring Grove.
When she was just 14 years old, Sarah started Green Daisy Soaps. Sarah has grown her business for the last 12 years and graduated from college debt-free with a degree in chemistry thanks to Green Daisy Soaps. She is now pursuing a career as an analytical chemist and will return to graduate school for her master’s degree in 2024. Libraries have provided Sarah with all the resources necessary to pursue her goals as a lifelong learner. She would not be a business owner or a chemist; these two passions were fostered from a young age all starting with the library.
